100 Days to Christmas
Your Foxy Guide to Getting Festive-Ready
…until the big day
Now, before anyone starts panicking… we're not suggesting you put the tree up just yet! But with exactly 100 days until the big day, it is the perfect time to start thinking about Christmas, especially if you're someone who likes to be organised rather than doing absolutely everything in December.
Whether you're already making lists, have started browsing for presents, or are firmly in the “Christmas? It's only September!” camp, a little forward planning now can make the festive season feel much more relaxed when December finally arrives.
And we have some very exciting news of our own…

The 100-day plan
So… when should you actually start Christmas shopping?
There's no right or wrong time to start, but spreading things out over the next 100 days can make Christmas feel much more manageable. Pick a month below and tick things off as you go – we'll remember your progress on this device.
Every list starts with a single tick!
September – Start thinking, not panic buying
This is the perfect month for a little bit of Christmas planning.
Make a list of the people you need to buy for, think about your budget and start keeping an eye out for ideas. If you're travelling over Christmas, now is also a good time to start thinking about arrangements, accommodation and those all-important festive dates.
And if you're a bargain hunter, September can be a good time to keep an eye on end-of-summer sales and clearance promotions, particularly for clothing, homeware and outdoor items.
Foxy tip: Make a note of gift ideas as you spot them rather than relying on remembering them in December! Try our gift ideas jar below.
September to-dos
October – Start picking up those presents
October is a great month to start buying some of your gifts.
You've still got plenty of time, but starting now means you can spread the cost and avoid the December rush.
It's also the perfect time to think about Christmas hampers and food gifts, particularly if you're buying for family, friends, clients or colleagues.
And, of course, this year you can come and see us at the Living North Christmas Fair from 22nd–25th October, where you'll be able to pre-order your favourite Running Fox Christmas hampers and get a first look at our brand-new Foxy merchandise.
October to-dos
November – Keep an eye on Black Friday
If you're looking for bigger-ticket gifts, November is the month to watch.
Black Friday falls towards the end of November and many retailers now launch promotions throughout the whole month rather than just on one day.
It can be a great opportunity to pick up electronics, beauty gifts, clothing, homeware and other more expensive presents at a reduced price.
Our advice? Know what you want before the sales start. Make a list, decide what you're prepared to spend and compare prices rather than being tempted into buying something simply because it has a big red discount sticker!
November to-dos
December – Enjoy the magic!
By December, hopefully the majority of the shopping is done and you can concentrate on the fun stuff.
Think Christmas cards, wrapping presents, stocking fillers, festive food and those little finishing touches that make the season feel special.
And if you're hosting Christmas, don't forget to plan your food shopping early. Some things can be bought weeks in advance, while fresh produce and bakery favourites are best left until closer to the big day.
Most importantly, leave yourself some time to actually enjoy Christmas.
Because Christmas isn't meant to be one enormous to-do list.
