Here you will find our most frequently asked questions. Please take a look through our FAQ section before contacting customer support.

We have four beautiful Cafes located in the picturesque Northumberland villages of Felton, Shilbottle, Longframlington and Longhoughton.

All are within easy reach of Alnwick, Alnmouth, Warkworth and the beautiful Northumberland Coast AONB.

The shops are also open for Click & Collect order collections.
Join us at any of our Cafes for:

  • Breakfast – Until 11:30am
  • Lunch – served from 11:45am
  • Afternoon Tea – served from 11:30am

We have free customer parking to rear of Cafes at Shilbottle, Longframlington and Longhoughton.

At Felton and Longhoughton, free roadside parking is available nearby, although we do ask our customers to park considerately so as not to upset our lovely neighbours.

Please note that here at The Running Fox we do not operate in an allergen free environment.

If you are visiting us and have an allergy or a special dietary requirement, please inform a member of the team and they will be happy to help. We usually have vegetarian, vegan, no added gluten and no added dairy options available.

We have easy disabled access at our Shilbottle, Longframlington and Longhoughton Cafes. However, access at Felton is limited.

All of our cafes have outside seating areas so that you can enjoy Northumberland country life on a beautiful day.

Felton has limited outdoor seating, but Longframlington, Shilbottle and Longhoughton have larger outdoor seating areas.

Please note, it is not possible to book a table outside.

Here at The Running Fox, we love to look after everyone’s needs – big or small. That’s why we have created a Very Important Little Person menu, offering a range of yummy Foxy snacks and meals for your little one to enjoy.

Highchairs are available too. Please request one when you book a table or ask a member of staff on arrival.

We love (well behaved!) dogs at The Running Fox, and these furry friends are most welcome in the outside seating areas at all of our Cafes.

Dogs are welcome inside the Cafes in Shilbottle, Longframlington and Longhoughton. Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs in our Felton Cafe due to the layout of the building.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Maestro or The Running Fox E-Gift Card online.

We accept: MasterCard, Visa and Maestro, Cash or the Running Fox Gift Voucher for offline and email orders.

No. By creating an account, you will automatically get access to your order history. An account will be created automatically during checkout so no additional steps are required to create an account with us.

This is automatically sent to your email address when you place an order. If you haven’t received your order confirmation within 24 hours, please get in touch at just in case there’s a problem with your order. Please check your mailbox’s spam or junk folder before contacting in case the order confirmation has been diverted there.

We typically only cancel orders if there’s a problem with stock, or if you’ve asked us to cancel. Please accept our apologies if your order is canceled because of a problem at our end. We’ll always offer an alternative product and process your refund in full, as quickly as possible.

There is only a short amount of time between when you place your order and when we start processing it. If you contact us straight away after ordering, via, we may be able to cancel your order before it’s processed.

We deliver locally on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays.

Local Delivery

We offer a Local Delivery service for orders over £15. Charges are £5.00 or £6.00 depending on location.

10 Mile Radius of Felton – £5.00. Delivery days are Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

20 Mile Radius of Felton – £6.00. Delivery days are Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Gift Voucher Delivery

We use Royal Mail First Class £3.50 per order.

E-Gift Card Delivery

Delivered for free to your inbox by email or to your phone by text.

National Delivery

We use Royal Mail and other Courier companies for all deliveries outside of our Local Delivery area.

Royal Mail / Courier delivery – £4.50 within 3 – 4 working days.

Courier Delivery – From £6.50 for orders over 2kg

Includes a delicious sandwich, a generous slice of handmade pie or quiche, a fresh cheese or fruit scone and a wedge of one of our magnificent cakes. All served with endless tea or coffee.

Give the lucky recipient the gift of a coffee or tea and a slice of cake – on four seperate visits! Yum.

4 Legged Friend Gift Voucher – from £4.50

Are you barking mad for the special dog in your life? Choose one of our 4-Legged Friend Gift Vouchers for the perfect pooch treat.

E-Gift Cards are valid for a year from the date of purchase.

All of our Gift Vouchers are valid until November 2022. But with an abundance of delicious produce here to temp you, we are sure you will use them much sooner than that!

Our Gift Vouchers can be bought online or in person in all of our Cafes.

If you buy a Gift Voucher online, the voucher will be posted to you by 1st Class post or you can select to collect them from one of our Cafes via Click & Collect.

The E-Gift Card can only be purchased online and will be sent by email or text to the buyer.

To use a Gift Voucher simply visit us at any of our Cafes or Shops to enjoy your special treat! Please note, if you woud like Afternoon Tea booking are essential.

If you would like to use your Gift Voucher for your order for delivery, please email and a member of our team will be happy to help, as currently Gift Vouchers cannot be redeemed in our onile shop.

E-Gift Cards can only be redeemed in our online Shop (excluding Click & Collect).

We have extended the expiry date on all gift vouchers until November 2022. There is no need to get in touch to let us know – just bring your voucher with you when you are able to visit.

If you would like to use your voucher for an order for delivery or collection, please email and a member of our team will be happy to help.

Unfortunately, at this time Gift Vouchers cannot be redeemed in our online shop.

We are very sorry that your voucher has been lost, but we are unable to accept liability for lost or stolen vouchers.

Follow these steps to send an email gift voucher to a chosen recipient at a later date. You can use delay sending to send a gift on someones Birthday, Mothers Day, Christmas etc. Simply visit our Foxy Gift Voucher store and follow these steps to delay send an email gift voucher.

  1. Choose the gift voucher you would like to send and for “How would you like to send it” select Email from the options.
  2. Feel free to add a personal message and then click on the Add to Basket button to add the gift voucher to your shopping cart.
  3. Confirm you have added the correct voucher, ensuring Email is shown for Delivery and then click on the Choose Delivery button to move to the next step.
  4. Under “Who should we send this digital card to?”, enter the email address of the person you are gifting the card to.
  5. Under “When do you want to send it?” you can either send it straight away or choose to send it at a later date by selected the ‘Set a date’ option.
  6. If you choose to send it later, when you click the ‘Set a date’ option you will see some additional fields which you will need to complete. Enter the date, for Christmas enter it as 25/12/2023 and then enter the time you would like the email to be sent.
  7. With all fields completed, click the Proceed to Payment button to move to the next step.
  8. Fill out the checkout fields as required and then click on the necessary payment button to move to the final step.
  9. Now enter your details on the payment form (if you are not using the Google or Apply pay options) and then click the Pay button.
  10. Follow any further authorisation prompts if necessary and then your order will be placed, and your voucher will be sent at your chosen day and time.
